Farm To Table - Myanmar Style

On our recent trip to Myanmar, we were incredibly encouraged to see the growth and expansion of the MCDC Sustainable Farm at Hope Children’s Home. From the moment we entered the gate, it was clear we were stepping into something special. A living example of how a grant from IDES, along with generous support from donors and churches, has helped turn a vision into reality.

This farm is now providing fresh food for the children and staff, while also extending its impact into the surrounding community. What was once a dream is now actively nourishing lives.

Looking ahead, there are exciting plans to continue developing the space, including building compost bins, tool sheds, and additional storage. There are even thoughtful plans to place prayer benches throughout the property, creating spaces for reflection alongside the work being done.

One of the most meaningful highlights was seeing the children actively engaged in the garden. Day after day, they are learning valuable skills, taking ownership, and experiencing the joy of growing something with their own hands.
