Project Description

Christ-Centered Community Development

Community Health Evangelism (CHE) is a Christ-centered educational program used around the world — including in Myanmar churches and communities. CHE seamlessly integrates evangelism and discipleship with community health and development. Through CHE ministries, individuals become followers of Jesus and communities are lifted out of cycles of poverty and disease.

FAME, a medical mission group based in Indianapolis, sponsored ACM Myanmar leaders to travel to the Philippines and participate in a six week CHE internship. As friendships and visions were shared, several of the interns from the US and Malaysia became involved in implementing CHE in Myanmar. FAME has continued its commitment to CHE in Myanmar by leading several “train the trainer” workshops and a number of specialized outreaches in the areas of women’s health and midwifery training.

With the help of FAME and other partners, ACM has held 22 CHE seminars and completed 32 CHE-related projects, including water projects, animal husbandry, vocational training, health education, and medical outreaches.
